Indy Drag Theatre was co-founded in 2022 by Blair St. Clair and April Rosé in Indianapolis, IN.

We are colorful, queer, Hoosiers that believe in the magic of theatre and performance. Our mission is to create inclusive spaces for LGBTQIA+ storytelling in our local community.

Shining a spotlight

on queer hoosiers

Whether in history books or mainstream media, queer themes are often downplayed. Queer characters are made the supporting roles or comic relief, implying to people that cis-hetero stories are the only ones worth telling. Indy Drag Theatre flips the script, literally, by reimagining traditional musicals, putting our stories center stage, bringing new understandings and humor to our audiences because of the unique queer filter we apply to each show.

By being visible and sharing that with local audiences, we aspire to be a part of Indiana that offers safety and opportunity for queer Hoosiers and allies to express themselves authentically, artistically, and joyously.

Meet Our Founders

April Rosé

Co-Founder | Creative Director | Resident Choreographer
April Rosé (also known as Alyjah Duff) is the Co-Founder, Creative Director, and Resident Choreographer of Indy Drag Theatre. A visionary force behind the company, April has transformed a long-held dream into a vibrant reality, establishing a space where drag and traditional theatre intertwine to celebrate queer artistry in Indianapolis.
With a rich background spanning cruise ships, concert stages, and classic musicals, April brings a wealth of professional performance experience to the stage. Her choreography and direction have been pivotal in reimagining beloved productions such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Into the Woods, infusing them with a distinctive drag flair that resonates with diverse audiences.
April’s passion for storytelling and movement is matched by her commitment to fostering an inclusive community. Under her creative leadership, Indy Drag Theatre has become a sanctuary for LGBTQIA+ performers and allies, offering a platform where authenticity and creativity thrive.
Beyond the stage, April is dedicated to mentoring emerging artists, advocating for queer representation in the arts, and pushing the boundaries of conventional theatre. Her work not only entertains but also challenges and inspires, reflecting a deep-seated belief in the transformative power of performance.
Blair St. Clair

Co-Founder | Artistic Director
Blair St. Clair (she/her) is an Indianapolis-born performer, recording artist, and co-founder of Indy Drag Theatre. She gained national recognition as a beloved contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race (Season 10) and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars (Season 5), earning praise for her charisma, artistry, and vulnerability on screen.
A Billboard-charting pop artist, Blair’s debut album Call My Life reached #1 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart in 2018, followed by Identity, which debuted at #10 in 2020. Her music blends theatrical storytelling with pop sensibilities, reflecting her deep roots in both the drag and theatre communities.
Blair co-founded Indy Drag Theatre in 2021 to help create inclusive, imaginative spaces where drag and traditional theatre intersect. Through her work onstage and off, she continues to advocate for LGBTQ+ representation, using her platform to uplift and celebrate queer voices.

Meet our Board

Max Maneater

(they/them)

PRESIDENT
Max Maneater (they/them) is an Indianapolis-based entertainer, emcee, and producer who loves bringing people together through performance art. Max fell in love with Indy Drag Theatre (IDT) as Jack in Into the Woods (2022) and served as IDT’s Human Resources Liaison and Board Member from 2022-2024. As Board President, Max is committed to IDT’s mission by uplifting queer artists and curating a space for self-expression, creativity, and joy.
Max has 10 years’ experience in nonprofit and government agency work and holds a Masters in Healthcare Administration. They co-produce a monthly burlesque show, are a member of Toastmasters International, and perform burlesque across Midwest stages. In their free time, Max enjoys NYT crossword puzzles and cuddling their two cats.
Whether you’re an audience member, aspiring performer, or supporting behind the scenes, Max recognizes the profound impact that drag and theater has on the local community and is humbled to contribute to this very special organization.
Axel Brozie

(they/them)

VICE PRESIDENT
Axel Brozie is a Chicagoland native who moved to Indianapolis not knowing what to expect, then was floored when they found the absolute gem that is Indy Drag Theatre. They have appeared on stage as characters including Ogre Fiona in Shrek, Mr. Stephens in Carrie, and - most notably - a chipper guy who was far too excited about buying a plant in Little Shop of (W)Horrors.
Axel has a passion for merging their policy prowess and budding drag skills in a way that empowers, protects, and amplifies queer voices and artistry. They hope to achieve these goals and more while working with this fantastic group of officers and directors.
Sean Seager

(he/him)

TREASURER
Sean Seager (he/him) is a native Hoosier residing on the East Side. Sean was part of IDT’s inaugural season playing various roles in both Wicked and Legally Blond, as well as The Wolf in Into The Woods. In 2023, Sean joined the IDT Board as its first sitting Treasurer and has remained in this role ever since.
When not crunching numbers for IDT, you'll find Sean crunching numbers for the Damien Center, listening to Britney Spears, enjoying time with his hubby and animals, and going to various concerts.
Eli Rose

(he/him)
SECRETARY
Eli Rose (he/him) is an Indianapolis native who got his start with IDT in 2024 as Mr. Mushnick in Little Shop of (W)Horrors. His stage credits went on to include Brad/Corny Collins (Understudy)/Link Larkin (Understudy) in HairSLAY, Tommy Ross in Carrie, Big Bad Wolf in Shrek, and Emmett Forrest in Legally Blonde(r).
Off stage, Eli is a recent graduate from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he worked with Indiana Legal Services in both their LGBTQ+ Project and Tenant Advocacy Program.
Kalinda

MEMBER AT LARGE
Kalinda (she/her) has been a proud member of the Indianapolis drag community for the past 8 years and has been performing in theatre for close to 2 decades. She has starred in many IDT productions on stage and is extremely passionate about expanding and amplifying the work that IDT is doing behind the scenes. Indy Drag Theatre has pushed the boundaries of what drag AND theatre can be.
Kalinda has operated as IDT’s Special Events Manager for the past year, and has led our organization in some fantastic opportunities. Notably, IDT’s involvement in the Indy Pride Parade and various other community events. She has a strong commitment to pushing boundaries and helping IDT reach even more people. Halle Pino

MEMBER AT LARGE
With a passion for storytelling, advocacy, and the art of drag, Halle Pino (she/her) brings a wealth of experience to Indy Drag Theater’s board. A longtime champion of LGBTQIA+ visibility and representation, Halle has dedicated years to amplifying Queer BIPOC voices through performance, public health initiatives, and media.
As the host of Fat, Femme, Old & Asian: the Podcast with Halle Pino, she explores current events, pop culture, and social justice through a distinctly Queer lens. Additionally, Halle serves on the board of a nonprofit organization which serves LGBTQIA+ Young Adults & Youth, using her expertise in public health and community engagement to drive meaningful change.
At Indy Drag Theater, Halle is committed to fostering an inclusive, vibrant space where drag artists of all backgrounds can thrive. Whether on stage, behind the mic, or advocating for marginalized communities, she believes in the power of drag as both an art form and a movement.
Melody Hawkins

MEMBER AT LARGE
Melody Hawkins (she/her) is a lover of all things drag and musical theatre. She recently finished 4 years serving on the Indy Pride Board of Directors as Vice President of Development.
In her spare time, she owns her own candle company (Melt), takes improv classes, binge watches reality tv, and spends time with her spouse Ruth and their adorable dog David Rose. She’s excited to support IDT and see it continue to grow and thrive!
Geovani Bonilla

MEMBER AT LARGE
Geovani Bonilla (he/him) is an independent consultant for health care and managed care organizations. Geovani moved to Indianapolis in 2018 to join IU Health as Vice President of Medical Operations at Indiana University Health Plans. Most recently, he served as the Director of Clinical Services at Indiana Medicaid.
Geovani has served as Board Chair for the Indianapolis Ballet, Board Vice Chair for Dance Kaleidoscope, and as a Board Member for the Damien Center. He received his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business.
Warren Reed Cruz

MEMBER AT LARGE
Warren (he/him) is an Alabama native and third generation graduate of the University of Alabama. Roll Tide! He also graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
Warren and his husband Jesse stumbled across Indy Drag Theatre by chance and have not missed a show since! He is excited to support IDT while it provides a platform for queer voices, joy, and artistry.
